Walking in the dusk of SoHo NYC heading to champagne party hosted by Calypso St. Barth Home and the moment of energy first night was in pure heaven with Bloggers of Blog Tour NYC. We were learning about each other from all walks of life. I was intrigued with store fronts here and there. Bright lights and dim lights appear every so often as many businesses were shutting down for the evening. SoHo seems to me as evening approaches the neighborhood closes down and quite moments are expected in the area not wanting visitors for the evenings.
It was little chilling but felt great our first night together. The vibe of intimacy walking into the neighborhood store where staff were waiting with open arms and ready to serve champagne. The store layout was so easy on my eyes as I was able to enjoy the unique pieces displayed throughout the store. One of the staff members and I began to chat. She mentioned she was from Atlanta, Georgia and we connected very quickly. I grew up in Mississippi. Deep South folks have culture bonds no other way to explain as we submerged into our conversation about family, school, and where each of us are now. She is a Ole Miss graduate from Oxford, Mississippi.
The evening went by so quickly with great laughter and we had to depart for our next stop at a restaurant. Thank you to Calypso St Barth Home for having us.
The Calypso St Barth has boutiques throughout the U.S. for clothing and home decor. Have fun checking out it online and shop in person. Enjoy the Spring weather.

Another successful NYC BlogTour this year presented by Modenus brought out well-known bloggers and designers who shared their personal thoughts and eco-friendly design ideas to help honor and celebrate Earth Day on April 22, 2014.
In the next several blog posts, we will introduce designers who will share tips on composting and how to create an eco-friendly home environment.
“For me, Earth Day is about saving power,” states Johnson. “I would use insulation for switch plate covers that go behind it which is another way of saving energy.”
“I always tell people to be conscious of saving water when they are working in the kitchen or the bathroom,” states Habermehl. “I’m from Canada so we have many seasons that are really cold so it’s a matter of being aware of how you use resources that is important.”
The three designers also give excellent tips on composting that everyone is going to want to know! To view the entire video, visit: http://youtu.be/TdQkxDmVgFc
